The Beach is only a few meters away- sandy, but the sea is very shallow most of the year. The upside is that it is almost deserted, so you have it all to yourselves. You really need a car or bike here because it is not practical to walk everywhere. The local 7/11 is in walking distance, as are a couple of restaurants.
